Bi-polar Emails

Friends and Family,

I am so bi-polar with my emails, but this week was fantastic! We decided to just start over with our area and went through all of our investigators, asking them if they would one day be baptized. We're still working with those who said yes and we had to let some of them go, but it was a nice clean start. Along with letting some go, we had some extra time to find more people, and we have started inviting people to be baptized in most cases from the very first contact. If they say yes (or maybe) we set up a return appointment; if they say no, we find someone else. It might seem a little harsh, but we have seen so many miracles by doing that.

We met this one lady Sandra in Taco Bell a couple weeks ago and she said that we could come over another time. We visited her and she is so prepared. She is coming to church this Sunday and she told us she was going to read the whole Book of Mormon.

Last night we were walking around a spanish neighborhood at around 7:45 with a goal of inviting someone to be baptized before we went home. We found this little old hispanic lady carrying 5 gallon buckets of water to water her plants and offered to help her. We ended up spending 15-20 minutes of our precious finding time to help this lady water all of her flower beds (this lady really liked flowers), which was totally fine, but both Elder Wightman and I were thinking, "Lord, thank you for this opportunity to serve, but can you please help us find someone to invite to be baptized?" As we finished watering, we gave the lady a Restoration pamphlet and her neighbor across the fence shouted over to us asking us for one too. Thank you Heavenly Father.

We went over and taught this guy Manuel. Gave him a Book of Mormon and we're going to visit him tonight also. Oh, and we invited him to be baptized and he said yes!

So all in all, it's been a complete flip from last week and looking back, it was a great learning experience. I think that sometimes we look at trials and think, "how can I ever learn something from this!?" but it always happens. We always come out a little better and a little stronger.
I know this Church is true and that Jesus is our Savior. The more we learn about Him and the more we try to follow Him, the more peace and happiness we feel. It's as simple as that.

Love you all and hope you have a great week!

Sincerament,
